I have always had dogs and cats since I was a young boy. Since moving to Oakville in 1985, I have supported the OMHS, including being a volunteer dog walker. My wife and I adopted a kitten (Misty) from the OMHS in 1994.
I am a retired police officer after 36 years of service and was very fortunate to have been a police service dog handler for 9 of those years with my faithful partner Nero. I learned first-hand how intelligent, capable and loyal an animal can truly be. Being a member of the K9 unit was without a doubt the best posting I had during my career.
After attending last year’s Prancing with the Stars and finding out how important this fund-raising event is to the OMHS, I thought that there is no reason why I shouldn’t participate and raise money for a fantastic cause.
The OMHS is dedicated to protect and make life better for the animals. They give a voice to animals who can’t speak for themselves.
The OMHS is an independent, non-profit charitable organization funded by the donations. Please donate generously to help animals in need.
